LANCASTER, SC ~Jackie Ray Sims, age 64, passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at his home.  Jackie was born October 17, 1956 in Monroe, NC, a son of the late W. J. Sims and Leona Barr Sims and was the husband of Pamela Moree Sims.  Jackie enjoyed dirt track racing, restoring old cars, building model cars, and fabrication work.  He received the Lifetime Achievement Award on July 11, 2020 and is on the Hall of Fame at Lancaster Speedway.  Jackie loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them.  He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.

Jackie is survived by his wife of 39 years, Pam Sims; his son, Johnny Sims; his uncle, Steve Barr; his nephew, Dwayne Sims; and a half-brother, Randy Sims.

Jackie was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Jerry Sims.

The Celebration of Life Graveside Service for Jackie will be 2:00 pm Saturday, January 30, 2021 at Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery officiated by Pastor Calvin Snipes.

Jackie will be available for public viewing at Burgess Funeral Home, 1800 Charlotte Hwy., Lancaster, SC on Friday from 12:00 – 4:00 pm and Saturday from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm.
