LANCASTER, SC – Mr. Jackie Ferrel Knight, age 76, passed away Saturday, October 12, 2024. He was born March 5, 1948, in Lancaster, SC, a son of the late Jack Knight and Mary Wright Knight and was the husband of Peggy Barfield Knight. Jackie has been a farmer all of his life. He was a welder fabricator for JA Jones in Charlotte. Jackie was a member of the SC National Guard. His hobby was racing dirt track, which he did for several years. He retired from Teledyne Allvac where he was a maintenance mechanic. Once he retired, he became a self-made businessman owning several rental properties. He could build, fabricate, and grow anything he set his mind to, and this was instilled in his daughters as well as his grandchildren. Jackie was a firm believer in working hard for what you want and never depend on anyone. He always helped any and everyone that called on him for anything. To say he will be greatly missed is an understatement!

Jackie is survived by his wife of 57 years, Peggy Knight; two daughters, Mary Ann Knight and Marie Knight; two grandchildren, Josh Miller and Christy Miller; three great grandchildren, Trenton Glenn, Kyndall Glenn, and Mason Miller; brother, Stanley Knight; and nephew, David Knight.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and son-in-law, Richard Hill.

The Celebration of Life Graveside Service for Jackie will be 3:00 pm Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery officiated by Rev. Mike Catoe.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 pm Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at Burgess Funeral Home.
