LANCASTER, SC ~ Mrs. Iris Bailey Steele, age 81, passed away Sunday, August 20, 2017 at her home. She was born September 24, 1935 in Lancaster, a daughter of the late Dewitt A. Bailey and Sadie McManus Bailey and was the wife of Billy C. Steele. Mrs. Steele was a member of Oakridge A.R.P. Church.

Mrs. Steele is survived by her husband, Billy C. Steele and two sisters, Peggy Bailey Bell of Lancaster and Vickie Bailey Ebbers and her husband, Steve of Hilton Head, SC. She was preceded in death by a brother, William Stafford Bailey and a sister, Sybil Bailey Timmons.

The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. Steele will be 3:00 pm Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at Oakridge A.R.P. Church by Dr. Bill Fleming and Rev. Glenn Wellsford. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 3:00 pm Wednesday in the church fellowship hall and suggest memorial contributions be made to the National Federation of the Blind of South Carolina, 119 S. Kilbourne Road, Columbia, SC 29205.
