LANCASTER, SC::::::: Mrs. Irene Talbert Rowell, age 85, died Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at Springs Memorial Hospital. She was born May 25, 1929 in Lancaster County, the daughter of the late Herbert N. Talbert and Mary Cora Hilton Talbert and was the wife of Ned Wendell Rowell. Mrs. Rowell was a homemaker, was very involved with the Cub Scouts when her children were younger and a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.
Mrs. Rowell is survived by her husband of 58 years, Ned Wendell Rowell, two sons, Vernon Toby Faulkenberry and his wife Sandra of Kershaw and Wendell Ottis Rowell and his wife Susan of Lancaster, three grandchildren, Chris Faulkenberry, Angie Faulkenberry and Jonathan Edmonds and his wife Bailey, seven great-grandchildren, Tyler,Kasey, Olivia and Claire Faulkenberry and Emrick, Becker and Ellis Edmonds and a sister in law, Doris Furr Talbert.
Mrs. Rowell was preceded in death by two brothers, Hazel T. Talbert and Richard Jack Talbert.
The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. Rowell will be 11:00 am Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Bethlehem Baptist Church by Rev. Jason Myers and Rev. Reggie Hopkins. Burial will follow at Tabernacle United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The Family will receive friends from 10:00 - 11:00 am Saturday in the Family Life Center of Bethlehem Baptist Church and other times at the home of Wendell and Susan Rowell. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Bethlehem Baptist Church Building Fund, 1841 N. Rocky River Road, Lancaster, SC 29720.
