LANCASTER, SC ~ Mr. Ira Boyd "Tank" Hance, Jr., age 72, of Lancaster passed away Sunday, April 17, 2022. He was born December 4, 1949, in Camden, SC to the late Ira Boyd Hance, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Adams Hance. Tank graduated from Lancaster High School Class of 1968 where he played on the football team and tennis team. Tank graduated from the Baptist College of Charleston Class of 1973 with a Bachelor of Science degree. He managed several finance offices in Lancaster, Rock Hill, and Winnsboro. He was co-owner of several pawn shops. Tank enjoyed playing golf, cards, and the outdoors, hunting and fishing. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Tank is survived by his wife, Rita Cauthen Hance; his children, Ira "Butch" Hance III (Danielle) of Chapin, Suzanne Hough (Richard) of Richburg, Matthew Hance (Misty Ernandez) of Fort Lawn, Ashley Wheeler of Fort Lawn; grandchildren, Ira "Cullen" Hance, IV (Hannah), Elise Hance, Flynn Hance, Will Hough, McKinley Hough, Katelyn Hough, Oakley Eubanks, Abram Hance, Ailah Hance, Asher Hance, Grayden Wheeler, Landry Wheeler; his sister, Barbara H. Ellis (Kenneth) of Myrtle Beach SC; his brother, Tim Hance (Susan) of Columbia, SC;  aunts, Bernice Melton, Marguerite Adams, Linda Adams, Mary Nance; an uncle, JT Phillips, and numerous cousins.

Tank was preceded in death by his parents; and several aunts and uncles.

The Celebration of Life Service for Tank will be 3:00 pm Sunday, April 24, 2022, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Buddy Thomas and Rev. Donnie Birchfield. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 pm, one hour prior to the service, in the fellowship hall at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
