LANCASTER, SC ::::: Mrs. Ignoma Knight Stogner, age 81, died Wednesday October 15, 2014 at her home. She was born March 19, 1933 in Lancaster, the daughter of the late Will Knight and Bessie Flynn Knight and was the wife of the late Yates Stogner. Mrs. Stogner retired from Springs Industries after more than 41 years and then was a caregiver for 18 more years. She loved quilting, working in her flowers, and cooking and caring for family and other people in the community. She was a lifelong member of Zion United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Stogner is survived by a daughter, Wanda Faile, a son, Jerry Stogner and his wife Becky, and a daughter-in-law Debbie Stogner all of Lancaster, 2 grandchildren, Michael Stogner and his wife Missy and Brandon Faile, 6 step-grandchildren, Andrea Garrison and her husband Tim, Chuck Faile, Chuck Balkcum and his wife Christy, Matt Balkcum, Ben Balkcum and Tiffany Story and her husband Ricky, 4 great grandchildren, Kaytlin and Gage Stogner, Cameron and Carmen Faile, 9 step great grandchildren, a very special nephew, Jody Craig, and several loving nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Stogner was preceded in life by a son, Donald "Donnie" Stogner, son-in-law, Lonnie Faile, 3 brothers, Gladys Knight, Jack Knight, Billie C. Knight, and 4 sisters, Flonnie Lane, Myrtle Craig, Beatrice Knight and Ella Ray.
The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. Stogner will be 3:30 pm Friday, October 17, 2014 at Zion United Methodist Church by Rev. Michael Burgess. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The Family of Mrs. Stogner will receive from 6:00 - 8:00 Thursday, October 16, 2014 at Burgess Funeral Home and suggests memorial contributions be made to Zion United Methodist Church, 1665 Zion Road, Lancaster SC 29720.
The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. Stogner will be 3:30 pm Friday, October 17, 2014 at Zion United Methodist Church by Rev. Michael Burgess. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
