KERSHAW, SC:::Mrs. Ida Mathis Rogers, age 83, died Thursday, April 10, 2014 at Eastside Medical Center in Snellville, GA. She was born September 8, 1930 in Columbia, SC, the only child of the late Duncan Lucene Mathis and Ida Jones Mathis. Mrs. Rogers was a homemaker and a member of Kershaw First Baptist Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Rebecca Rogers Steele and her husband Scott of Lilburn, GA and Anna Rogers Hines and her husband Jeff of Apex, NC and one son, William John Rogers II and his wife Debbie of Mt. Pleasant, SC, three grandchildren, Shelton Steele Martin and her husband Clint, Joe Rogers, Caroline Rogers, and one great grandchild, Finn Martin.
Mrs. Rogers was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Laura Steele.
Ida lived in Kershaw for most of her life, and was a graduate of the former Kershaw High School. She also attended the University of South Carolina, and enjoyed watching Gamecock sports. Her hobbies included knitting, reading and playing bridge with family and friends.

The Service of Remembrance for Mrs. Rogers will be 2:00 pm, Sunday, April 13, 2014, graveside at Kershaw City Cemetery located on Edwards Street by Rev. Donald Coppedge.
