LANCASTER, SC – Hubert Johnson, age 94, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Tuesday, February 25, 2025. He was born March 29, 1930, in Kershaw County, a son of the late Roy Johnson and Mollie Phillips Johnson.  Mr. Johnson retired from Springs Industries after 42 years.  He loved gardening, farming, and hunting.  His most joyous times were spent at family gatherings and with his fur baby, "Sissy".  Mr. Johnson was a member of Pleasant Dale Baptist Church.

Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife Melva Love Johnson; a stepdaughter, Linda K. Lackey (Rickey); and step grandchildren, Brian Knight, Denise Hinson (Mike), Crystal Minelli (Robert), and Teresa Lackey; eight great grandchildren, Alyssa, Nathaniel, Cameron, Justin, Nicole, Kylee, Brittany, Mackenzie.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Iva Mae Knight Johnson; five brothers, Jack Johnson, Clyde Johnson, Tommy Johnson, Rueben Johnson, and James Johnson, Jr.; seven sisters, Alma Watts, Ethel Catledge, Thelma Oliver, Evelyn Williams, Alice Catoe, Ruth Mathis and Ella Kos; stepson, Ray Knight; and a great grandson, Johnathan.

The Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Johnson will be 2:00 pm Monday, March 3, 2025, at Pleasant Dale Baptist Church officiated by Dr. Jessie Adams and Dr. Jackie Jenkins.  Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm, prior to the service, at the church. In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, memorials may be made to Pleasant Dale Baptist Church Building Fund 133 South Potter Road, Lancaster, SC 29720
