LANCASTER, SC ~ Mr. Howard Charles Pomnitz, Jr., age 84, passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2020 at MUSC Charleston. He was born May 4, 1936, a son of the late Howard Charles Pomnitz, Sr. and Anna Gertrude Quigley Pomnitz and was the husband of the late Jeannette Capozzi Pomnitz.  Mr. Pomnitz proudly served his country in the United States Army.  He enjoyed racing, especially drag racing.  He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and was a great mentor to his sons.

Mr. Pomnitz is survived two sons, Howard C. "Chuck" Pomnitz, III, and James Pomnitz and his wife, Lori; two daughters, Lisa Jenkins, and Valentina Cappola; five grandchildren, Savannah Sterchi, Jordan Pomnitz, Aiden Pomnitz, Maya Jenkins, and Khierra Kelley; three great grandchildren, Sophia Patrick, Lorenzo Patrick, and Greyson Patrick; two sisters, Dale and Elaine; two nieces, Nina Groves-Tipton, and Brooke Groves; and two nephews, Crevonte' Cappola, and Blake Groves.

Mr. Pomnitz was preceded in death by his wife, Jeannette Pomnitz; and his parents.

The Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Mr. Pomnitz will be private.
