LANCASTER, SC ::::::::::Mr. Howard Lee Farmer, age 84, formerly of Lancaster, died Friday, January 30, 2009 at The Laurels in Salisbury, NC. He was born December 27, 1924 in Kershaw, the son of the late Minor P. and Ada Holden Farmer and was the husband of the late Margarette Gay Farmer. Mr. Farmer retired from Springs Industries, was a charter member of Grace Presbyterian Church, a member of the American Legion and served our great country in the US Navy during World War II. Mr. Farmer was survived by his daughter, Teresa F. Keirn and her husband Wayne of Salisbury, NC, a sister Ruth F. Anderson of Lancaster, a brother, Jerry Farmer of Kershaw, and 4 grandchildren; Allison Leigh Keirn of Boone, NC, Monica Ann Keirn of Wilmington, NC, Katherine Marie Keirn of Pigeon Forge, TN and Roy Ashland Keirn of Stanley, NC.The Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Mr. Farmer will be 2:00 pm Saturday, February 7, 2009 at Grace Presbyterian Church by Rev. Russ Wimmer with inurnment to follow at Lancaster Memorial Park. The Family of Mr. Farmer will receive friends one hour prior to service time at Grace Presbyterian Church and there will also be a reception at the church following the interment.
