LANCASTER, SC:::::::::::Mrs. Hildred Mobley Robinson McAteer, age 90, died Friday, December 27, 2013 at Springs Memorial Hospital. She was born January 25, 1923 in Heath Springs, the daughter of the late John Edgar Mobley, Sr. and Sara Elizabeth Young Mobley and was the wife of the late John Wesley McAteer. Mrs. McAteer retired from DHEC and the Lancaster County Health Department as a Registered Nurse. In her earlier career, she also worked for Marion Sims Hospital. Mrs. McAteer volunteered with the Springs Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and the Lancaster County Council on Aging. She was a member of the State Employees Association and Zion United Methodist Church.

Mrs. McAteer is survived by a son, Ervin Robinson and his wife Martha of Lancaster, two stepsons, John Ralph McAteer of Myrtle Beach and Dennis McAteer of Lancaster, and a niece, Brenda Carter of Waxhaw, NC.

Mrs. McAteer was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Elizabeth Jenkins and Vivian Spittle.

The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. McAteer will be 11:00 am, Tuesday morning, December 31, 2013 at Zion United Methodist Church by Rev. Mike Burgess, Rev. Gerald R. Hallman and Dr. Robert J. Robinson. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The Family of Mrs. McAteer will receive friends immediately following the service in the Thompson Family Life Center and suggest memorials be made to Zion United Methodist Church, 1665 Zion Road, Lancaster, SC 29720.
