LIBERTY HILL, SC ::::::::::Mr. Henry Robert Denton, age 69, of 2356 Little Gull Road, died Monday afternoon, September 29, 2008 at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill. He was born September 13, 1939 in Lancaster, the son of the late James Brown Denton and Eunice Robinson Denton and was the husband of Carol Dye Denton. Mr. Denton retired from Duke Energy in Charlotte, NC, was a Ham Radio Operator, a member of the Carolina DX Association, and also of Lyttleton Street United Methodist Church in Camden.Mr. Denton is survived by his wife of 43 years, Carol Dye Denton of the home, a son, Bryan R. Denton of Jacksonville, FL, a brother, D. Thomas Denton of Lancaster, 2 sisters, Dorothy D. Threatt of Lancaster and Reba Denton Duggan of Columbia and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Denton was preceded in death by a brother, Jerrell Denton.The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mr. Denton will be 2:00 pm, Wednesday afternoon, October 1, 2008 at Hartley Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Sheila Rogers with burial to follow at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery in Lancaster.
