LANCASTER, SC ::::::::::: Mrs. Helen Burns Snipes, age 86, died Monday, November 9, 2009 at White Oak Manor. She was born July 31, 1923 in Lancaster County, the daughter of the late Rufus Edward Burns and Dolly Crosby Burns and was the wife of the late Edward Snipes. Mrs. Snipes retired from Springs Industries, was gifted in crocheting and cross stitching that she shared with many friends, and a member of Faith Baptist Church where she served in the choir and nursery. Mrs. Snipes is survived by 2 sons, Charles E. Snipes and his wife Delores and R. Wayne Snipes both of Lancaster, a daughter, Dianne S. Snipes and her husband Larry also of Lancaster, a sister, Lila Kennington of Heath Springs, 5 grandchildren, Scott Reeves, Melissa "Becky" Rathburn and her husband Andy, Charles E. Snipes, Jr., Leslie Snipes, and Kayla Snipes, and 5 great grandchildren, Michael Reeves, Stephanie Snipes, Courtney England, Wayne Rathburn, and Jessica West.Mrs. Snipes was preceded in death by 2 brothers, James Burns and Saye Burns, a sister, Hattie Morris, and a daughter in law, Rhonda Snipes.The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. Snipes will be 2:00 pm, Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at Liberty Freewill Baptist Church by Rev. Tim Larrimore, Rev. Wayne Snipes, and Rev. Joel Rhyner with burial to follow at Lancaster Memorial Park. The Family of Mrs. Snipes received friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm, Tuesday evening, November 10, 2009 at Hartley Funeral Home and suggested memorial contributions be made to Liberty Freewill Baptist Church, PO Box 2094, Lancaster, SC 29721 or Pleasant Dale Baptist Church, Adult Mission Team, 133 S.
