LANCASTER, SC ~ Ms. Helen Maxine Clontz, age 75, passed away on Monday, June 10, 2019 at MUSC Health- Lancaster Medical Center.  She was born September 26, 1943 in Monroe, NC, the daughter of the late William Clayton Clontz and Crissie Preslar Clontz.  Helen enjoyed working in her yard, shopping, bowling and playing piano.  She loved keeping up with her friends on Facebook, going to the beach and traveling.  Helen was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.

Helen is survived by her son, Todd Courtney and his wife, Carla; two daughters, Myra Usher and her husband, Brian, and Cheryl McManus and her husband, Jakie; seven grandchildren, Laura Usher and her fiance, Ryan Healey, Matthew Usher and his wife, Julie, Courtney McManus, Kaitlyn Courtney, Lake Courtney, Kholby Pate and his wife, Summer, and Casey Pate; six great grandchildren, Aubrey Usher, Jackson Healey, Brennan Healey, Layla Healey, Brenton Usher, and Brenlee Usher; a sister, Barbara Scott and her husband, Bill; and three sisters-in-law, Nancy Stegall, Minnie Miles, and Linda Storey.

Helen was preceded in death by the father of her children, Donnie Courtney; her parents; and four sisters, Jane Watts, Rachel Hamilton, Margaret Clontz, and Karen Clontz.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Helen will be 3:00 pm Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home, 1800 Charlotte Hwy., Lancaster, SC officiated by Rev. Dale Walters.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm, one hour prior to the service, at Burgess Funeral Home and other times at the home of Myra and Brian Usher.  Memorials on behalf of Helen may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, Attn: Memorial Department, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
