CHARLOTTE, NC ~ Mr. Harry Carlyle King, 95, passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2020 at Brighton Gardens of Charlotte, NC.  He was born on June 26, 1924 in Jackson, TN, a son of the late Harry Baldwin King and Annie Kate McGehee King and was the husband of Dorothy Kirschner King.  Mr. King served in the United States Army Air Corp during WWII and was shot down in Germany. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Textile Engineering from NC State and retired from Springs Industries.  Mr. King loved to fish and read.

Mr. King is survived by his wife, Dorothy Kirschner King; a daughter, Candice King Canter of Columbia, SC; two grandchildren, Dorothy Dillingham Blue and her husband, Travis, and Susanne Howland Dillingham and her husband, David Casey; two great grandchildren, Fletcher Derrick Moore and Rex Michael Blue; two nieces, Pam King Truitt and Jacqueline King Cheek; and special friends, Cynthia & James Moore.

Mr. King was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Jack Garner King.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial contributions to made to a charity of one's choice.
