LANCASTER, SC :::::::::: Mr. Harry Edward Burgess, age 84, died Monday, October 28, 2013. He was born September 1, 1929 in Monroe, NC, the son of the late Floyd Burgess and Maude Catoe Burgess and was the husband of the late Gertie Sistare Burgess. Mr. Burgess retired from R. H. Collins Grain and was a member of Springhill Baptist Church.

Mr. Burgess is survived by a daughter, Carolyn Elmore of Lancaster, a step-son, Master Sergeant Robert Wheeler and his wife Joyce of Linn Creek, Missouri, a brother, John Burgess of Pageland, a sister, Nic Knight of Pageland, and two grandchildren, Bobby Wheeler and Tyler Crego.

Mr. Burgess was preceded in death by a daughter, Peggy Louise Stogner, two brothers, Roy Burgess and Earl Burgess, a sister, Louise Aldridge, and a grandson, Mark Wheeler.

The Family will hold a private memorial service and in lieu of flowers, suggests memorial contributions be made to Springhill Baptist Church, 2245 Old Camden Monroe Highway, Lancaster, SC 29720.
