LANCASTER, SC :::::::::: Mr. Harold Leroy Thomas, age 79, of 2796 Pineview Drive, died Wednesday, May 27, 2009. He was born February 11, 1930 in Rock Hill, the son of the late Melvin "Blue Jay" Thomas and Mabel Brewton Thomas and was the husband of Carolyn McCaskill Thomas. Mr. Thomas retired from the US Postal Service, was a Western Square Dance Caller, a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church and served our great country in the United States Army.Mr. Thomas was survived by his wife, Carolyn M. Thomas of the home, 2 daughters, Jeanie Cox and her husband Jimmy of Spartanburg and Ronda Lessmeister of Rock Hill, a son, Danny Thomas and his wife Peggy of Rock Hill, a step-son, Greg Clarke and his wife Lisa of Charlotte, a brother William A. Thomas of Gahanna, OH, and 10 grandchildren, Christopher Cox, Casey DiGrezio, Matthew Cox, Blake, Ashley and Courtney Thomas, Lori Stoneburner, Brad Lessmeister, Brooke Hudson and Madison Clarke. The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mr. Thomas will be 3:00 pm Friday, May 29, 2009 at St. Luke United Methodist Church by Rev. Kyle Randle with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Family of Mr. Thomas will receive friends immediately following the service in the Fellowship Hall and suggest memorial contributions to St. Luke United Methodist Church, 128 Providence Road, Lancaster, SC 29720.
