Obituary

LANCASTER, SC - Mr. Harold Clyde Hollis, age 75, passed away Saturday, April 29, 2017 He was born July 26, 1941 in Lancaster SC, a son of the late John Clayton Hollis, Sr. and Annie Jacobs Hollis and was the husband of Imogene Jean Dunlap Hollis. Harold was a member of New Cut Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder and in many other capacities. He was a kind and loving person. He never met a stranger and always had a smile on his face in despite of his difficulties. He loved his family and friends. His granddaughter, Annastan, was the light of his life. He enjoyed his travels to the beach. He was a loving father, grandfather and husband. Harold and Jean recently celebrated their 51 years of marriage.

Harold is survived by his wife, Jean Hollis; a son, Steven Scott Hollis and his wife Michelle of Kernersville, NC; a granddaughter, Annastan Hollis; and a brother, Lloyd Hollis and his wife, Billie; and several nieces and nephews.
Harold was predeceased by his parents, and a brother, John Clayton Hollis, Jr.

The Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Harold will be 3:00 pm Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home by Rev. Brian Martin and Rev. Wayne Dickson.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 2:00 3:00 pm and suggest in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to New Cut Presbyterian Church Building Fund, 2617 New Cut Church Road, Lancaster, SC, 29720.
