LANCASTER, SC – Mr. Gregory "Greg" Scot Shinn, age 65, passed away on Monday, December 15, 2025. Born on August 5, 1960, in Ontario, CA, a son of Charles Sydney Shinn and the late Marilynn Janet Lloyd Ford and was the loving husband of Cynthia "Cindy" Ann Brandriff Shinn.

He was a spiritual man of strong Christian faith and a dedicated member of Second Baptist Church of Lancaster, SC, and his commitment to teaching Sunday school wherever he belonged was inspiring. He was known as an "amazing teacher who wanted to learn the learner," always putting God first and sharing the warmth of his faith with everyone around him.

Greg's personality was unreservedly warm, welcoming, and fearless. He greeted everyone with an engaging, welcoming smile, had a hug for everyone, and possessed an infectious enthusiasm for life. He was a selfless encourager who was open, friendly, and warm to everyone he met. His children are a testament to his values, as he modeled unconditional love and shared with them his wide variety of musical tastes.

He was a chess master who loved playing with family, friends, and opponents around the world. He was a moving speaker, loved sports, and found joy in being present with his loved ones. As a pastime, he enjoyed playing Fantasy Football with his family, engaging in card games, beach camping in San Elijo, CA, fishing, and grilling his favorite fish tacos. Greg was a protective big brother and everyone's friend. Above all, he was a leader who cherished every moment he spent with his family.

Greg is survived by his wife of over 31 years, Cindy Shinn; his three children, Ashlee April Wetta (Andy), Adam Bruce Shinn, and Hannah Lorrene Shinn; two grandchildren, Owen and Chloe Wetta; his father, Charles Shinn (Mary Elizabeth); three brothers, David "Dave" Shinn (MaryAnn), Terry Shinn (Michelle), and Michael "Mike" Shinn (Debbie); five sisters, Sharon Miles (Randy), Dawn Oneal (Conrad), Susan Taylor, Susan Howell (Don) & Kelly Saenz (Darryn); He is also survived by numerous adored nieces and nephews; a plethora of brothers and sisters-in-law; his bonus family, the Haley family; and his former spouse, Tammy Proulx.
