Grace Roberts, a beloved educator, partner, mother, grandmother, and cherished member of her family, passed away September 27th surrounded by the love she had given so freely throughout her life.

Grace dedicated 29 years of her life to educating children at Buford Elementary. Her commitment to her students and to public education was an important part of who she was, and the lives she touched through her years in the classroom will remain part of her lasting legacy.

Outside of her work, Grace found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved reading, soaking up the sunshine, and spending time with the people who meant the most to her. Above all else, Grace loved her family. They were her greatest source of happiness and the center of her world.

Grace is survived by her daughter, Joni Harrison, Joni’s husband, Josh, and their son, Jake. She is also survived by her life partner, Phil Ingram, and his son, Regan, and Regan’s wife, Kristy.

Grace and Phil shared the joy of four grandchildren: Jake, Raven, Deacon, and Jaina. Her love for each of them was deep and unwavering, and the memories they created together will be treasured by her family for generations to come.

She is also survived by her brother Richard “Ricky” Gunther, her sister, Susan (David) Knight, and by her youngest brother Sanford “Sandy” Gunther as well as four nieces and two nephews and multiple great nieces and nephews who affectionately called her “Gaggie”.

Grace will be remembered for her dedication to the children she taught, her love of life’s quiet pleasures, and most of all, the unconditional love she gave to her family. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and countless memories that will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.

The Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Grace will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home

The family will receive friends the night before, September 30, 2026, 5:00-7:00 PM at Burgess Funeral Home.
