LANCASTER, SC ::::::::::: Mrs. Grace Welsh Funderburk, age 96, of 910 Crescent Drive, died Thursday, May 13, 2010 at Springs Memorial Hospital. She was born July 12, 1913 in Lancaster County, the daughter of the late James Walter Welsh and Mary Alice Hilton Welsh and was the wife of the late William C. Funderburk. Mrs. Funderburk retired as Operating Room Supervisor for Springs Memorial Hospital. She was a member of the Waxhaw Chapter of the DAR, a Red Cross Blood Drive Volunteer and a member of First Baptist Church. Mrs. Funderburk is survived by a son, William C. Funderburk of the home, 2 daughters, Ann Wages and her husband Mike, and Sylvia Cox and her husband David both of Columbia, a brother Thomas Welsh of Lancaster, 2 sisters Nell Faile of Lancaster and Elise Ackerman of Rock Hill and 2 grandchildren, Sarah and Chris Cox. The Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Mrs. Funderburk will be private and in lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Humane Society of Lancaster, 126 Main Street, Lancaster SC 29720
