LANCASTER, SC ~ Mrs. Glenda Cook Pitmon, age 73, passed away Sunday, February 14, 2021 at MUSC Health-Charleston. She was born September 4, 1947 in Lancaster, a daughter of Mildred Small Cook and the late Harrison Cook. She was the wife of Carl Pitmon. Mrs. Pitmon loved her family dearly, especially her granddaughters. She was the Office Manager at Lancaster Memorial Park for 24 years and previously a Teacher's Assistant at McDonald Green Elementary.  Mrs. Pitmon enjoyed going to their river cabin, camping, and annual trips to Dollywood at Christmas.  She also enjoyed crafting, shopping, and decorating for the holidays.  Mrs. Pitmon attended New Hope Baptist Church.

Mrs. Pitmon is survived by her husband of 53 years, Carl L. Pitmon; a daughter, Carla Lilly and her husband, Kevin; two granddaughters, Alexis Bryant, and Peyton Lilly; her mother, Mildred Cook; two brothers, Harry Cook (Debbie) of Myrtle Beach, and Johnny Cook of Waxhaw, NC; and a large extended family.

Mrs. Pitmon was preceded in death by a daughter, Michelle Pitmon; her father, Harrison Cook; and a sister, Jenny Hyatt.

The celebration of life graveside service for Mrs. Pitmon will be 3:00 pm on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at Lancaster Memorial Park officiated by Rev. Patrick Clark and Rev. Trent McLaughlin.  Social distancing will be practiced, and masks are required.
