LANCASTER, SC ~ Mrs. Gladys F. McClain Pressley , age 85, passed away Friday, April 2, 2021 at Atrium Health Main.  She was born March 26, 1936 in Pageland, SC, a daughter of the late Leroy Faile and Lena Boone Faile.  Gladys was employed with Springs Industries for years; then retired from Lancaster County School District.  She enjoyed being outdoors, working in her yard and with her flowers, watching birds, going to the mountains, and cooking.  Gladys always looked forward to getting together with family.  She was a very loving, tender caretaker who absolutely loved everyone.  Gladys loved her church, reading her Bible, and her Savior, Jesus Christ.  She was a 50 plus year member of Eastside Baptist Church.  Gladys currently attended Friendship Baptist Church.

Gladys is survived by three sons, Henry William McClain, Jr., Jerry McClain, and Donald McClain; her daughter, Sylvia Faulkenberry (Dennis); eleven grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; two brothers, Freddie Faile (Helen) and Bobby Faile (Mary); a sister, Azilee "Angie" Small (Dewey); two brothers-in-law, Buck Pigg and Tim Morris; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Gladys was preceded in death by two spouses, Henry William McClain, Sr. and Billy Pressley; her parents; a brother, C.L. Faile; three sisters, Gracie Lee Dudley, Alice Pigg, and Linda Morris; a brother-in-law, Wister Dudley; and a sister-in-law, Barbara Faile.

The Celebration of Life Service for Gladys will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home officiated by Rev. Donald Tillman and Rev. Donnie Birchfield.  Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.
