LANCASTER, SC:::::::::::: Mr. Gilbert Wayne Johnson, Jr., age 71, died Thursday, January 28, 2016 at his home. He was born December 26, 1944 in Lancaster County, a son of the late Gilbert Johnson and Pearl Carter Johnson and was the husband of Karen L. Johnson. Mr. Johnson was a member of the Jackson Shrine Club and the Lancaster Moose Lodge. He worked as a lineman for CJS Electric Company. His favorite saying was Life is Good. He loved hunting, fishing and was very much an outdoorsman. Mr. Johnson served our great country in the United States Navy and was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.

Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife, Karen L. Johnson; two daughters, Tanya of Indiana and Deborah of California; four sisters, Ruth Taylor and her husband WC of Lancaster, Shirley Crook and her husband, Van of Myrtle Beach, Shelby Williams and her husband, Billy of Clover and Doris Peck and her husband, Bob of Myrtle Beach; five grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.

Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by a brother, Jessie Johnson, and two sisters, Mildred Small and Ima Jean Catoe.

The Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Mr. Johnson will be 1:30 pm Tuesday, February 2, at Antioch Baptist Church by Rev. Trent McLaughlin.

The Family suggests in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Antioch Baptist Church, 3052 Taxahaw Road, Lancaster, SC 29720.
