INDIAN LAND, SC :::::::::: Mr. Gerald "Bus" Eugene Van Note, age 87, of 20037 Dovekie Lane, died Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at his home. He was born April 19, 1924 in Burt, Iowa, the son of Charles Van Note and Alice Stewart Van Note and was the husband of the late Betty Barbara Hoelscher Van Note. Mr. Van Note was a retired resident engineer for Malcolm Purney Company, a life member of the American Legion and the VFW, was recently inducted into the Eden Athletics Hall of Fame and served our great country in the United States Marines during World War II. Mr. Van Note is survived by his daughter, Carol V. Burch and her husband Jack of Indian Land, a son-in-law, Melvin "Ralph" Thompson of Indian Land, a brother, Marion Van Note, 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. The Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at a later date and the family suggests memorials to American Legion of Eden, NY.
