George Wayne "G.W./Buck" Sistare, age 63, passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at his home.  He was born August 29, 1956 in Monroe, NC, a son of Nada Sistare Helms Funderburk and the late Lawson Eugene Sistare. George was a tire guru; he worked at G&T tires for over 40 years and Catawba Tire for the last few years. George was a member of Spring Hill Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, dancing, bonfires, and watching NASCAR and Carolina Gamecocks football with friends and family.  George held the record for the fastest runner at Buford High School for many years.  He also loved spending time with his grandchildren.

George is survived by two daughters, Amie Sistare Matthews (John Hunter), and Ashley Griffin; two sons, Patrick Autry and David Autry; twelve grandchildren, Madison Benton (Dalton Tyson), Christian Chavez, Carlie Chavez, Lees Matthews, Skyler Matthews, Macie Berry, Lexie Griffin, Erin Griffin, Brooks Autry, Brecken Autry, Ava Autry and Silus Autry; three brothers, Robert Sistare (Diane), Lynn Brecht (Vickie), and Richard Funderburk (Valerie), all of Lancaster; five sisters, Barbara Phifer (Jerry) of Wingate, NC, Melissa Knight (Phil) of Lancaster, Kay Tarlton of Lancaster, Joan Harrell (Bruce) of Lancaster, and Jean Lloyd (Bill) of Lancaster; numerous nieces, nephews; and special friends, David (Renea) Griffin, and Teresa Fowlkes.

George was preceded in death by a son, Landon Eugene Sistare; and his father, L. Eugene Sistare.

The Celebration of Life Service for George will be held at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, March 18, 2020 at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home officiated by Rev. Brad Threatt and Preacher Cotton Pate.  Burial will be private.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 3:00 pm, one hour prior to the service at Burgess Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of George to Burgess Funeral Home, C/O George Sistare, P.O. Box 1743, Lancaster, SC 29721.
