LANCASTER, SC :::::::: Mr. George R. "Roddy" West, age 78, died Monday, June 16, 2014 at Springs Memorial Hospital. He was born April 2, 1936 in Kershaw County, the son of the late George and Loutee West and was the husband of Etta Douglas West. Roddy was a loving husband, grandfather and great grandfather lovingly known as "PawPaw" . He retired from Springs Industries and served our great country in the US Army National Guard. Roddy was also a very active and loyal member of Eastside Baptist Church having served on various committees and as Brotherhood Director.

Mr. West is survived by his wife, Etta West, Doug West and his wife Donna and Larry West and his wife Kathy, 3 sisters, Billie Morton of Charleston, Sylvia Shupe and her husband Chuck of Great Falls, and Ann Hammons of Rock Hill, and 5 grandchildren; Daniel West and his wife Karina, David West, Avery West, Kelsey Faulkner and her husband Justin, and Kinley Cannon.

Mr. West was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby West and a sister, Estaline Brown.

The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mr. West will be 3:00 pm Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at Eastside Baptist Church by Rev. Steve Neal, Rev. Curtis Cameron and Rev. Donnie Tillman. Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.

The Family of Mr. West will receive friends from 2:00 - 3:00 Wednesday, June 18, 2014 in the church fellowship hall and the family suggests memorials be made to Eastside Baptist Church, Building Fund, 1180 Garnette Road, Lancaster, SC 29720.
