LANCASTER, SC :::::::::: Mr. George "Lando" Hinson, age 67, of 3721 Hoke Road, died Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. He was born December 12, 1941 in Lancaster County, the son of the late Arthur Mack Hinson and Mary Gladys Stroud Hinson and was the husband of Vivian Metze Hinson. Mr. Hinson retired from Springs Industries, was a member of Fellowship Bible Church where he served as Deacon and also served as board member for Carolina Christian Academy. Mr. Hinson is survived by his wife, Vivian Metze Hinson of the home, a daughter, Lynn Hunt and her husband John of Lancaster, 5 brothers, Mack Hinson and James Hinson of Great Falls, Lee Hinson of Greer, Wade Hinson of Aiken and Hampton Hinson of Lancaster, 2 sisters, Annetta Martin of Georgia and Hattie Polston of Lancaster, and 2 grandchildren, Jonathan Wyles and Darren Wyles. Mr. Hinson was preceded in death by a brother, W. F. Hinson. The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mr. Hinson will be 1:00 pm, Friday afternoon, November 20, 2009 at Fellowship Bible Church by Dr. Huey Mills with burial to follow at Lancaster Memorial Park. The Family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm Thursday evening, November 19, 2009 at Hartley Funeral Home and suggest memorial contributions be made to Carolina Christian Academy, 1850 Kershaw Camden Highway, Lancaster, SC 29720 or the American Cancer Society, Lancaster County Relay for Life, 128 Stonemark Lane, Columbia, SC 29210.
