Obituary

LANCASTER, SC :::::::: Mr. George Franklin Faulkenberry, age 82 , died Thursday, November 14, 2013 at White Oak Manor. He was born July 11, 1931 in Lancaster County, the son of the late Minor R. Faulkenberry and Lena Faile Faulkenberry and was the husband of Margaret Arant Faulkenberry. Mr. Faulkenberry retired from Springs Industries - Grace Bleachery and served our great country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a founding member of Flat Creek Fire Department and served as treasurer for 10 years. He was instrumental in helping get county water to the Charlesboro community. Mr. Faulkenberry was a lifetime member of Charlesboro Baptist Church where he served as former Deacon, Sunday school teacher and Superintendent for a number of years.

Mr. Faulkenberry is survived by his wife of 58 years, Margaret Arant Faulkenberry of the home, a son, Daryl Faulkenberry and his wife Sharon of Kershaw, a daughter, Susan Faulkenberry Panousis and her husband Mark of Marvin, NC, three sisters, Dessie Mae Reeves, Margie Neal and her husband Wilson and Selena Flynn and her husband Bob all of Heath Springs, and four grandchildren, Kristy and Renee Faulkenberry and Amanda and Ashley Panousis.

Mr. Faulkenberry was preceded in death by three brothers, Joseph Carson Faulkenberry, Minor Earl Faulkenberry and an infant, William Lonnie Faulkenberry.

The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mr. Faulkenberry will be 10:00 am Saturday morning, November 16, 2013 at Charlesboro Baptist Church by Rev. Buddy Thomas and Rev. Steve Neal. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Faulkenberry will be open for viewing at the church one hour prior to the service.

The Family of Mr. Faulkenberry will receive friends in the church fellowship hall following the graveside service. The family suggests memorials be made to Charlesboro Baptist Church Building Fund, c/o Jo B. Arant, 2255 Gold Mine Highway, Kershaw, SC 29067.
