LANCASTER, SC –Mr. Gary Odell Small, age 69, passed away Friday, November 3, 2023. He was born November 29, 1953, in Lancaster, the son of the late Gilmore Small and the late Nellie Railey Small. Mr. Small enjoyed fishing, traveling, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of Springhill Baptist Church.

Mr. Small is survived by his son, Chris Small, and his wife, Lauren; his daughter, Carmon Bailey; five grandchildren, Austin Bailey, Logan Wilkins, Shepherd Small, Mary Adeline Small, and Beatrice Small; five sisters, Kathy Nichols, Peggy Cooper (Boyd), Joyce Garris (Ralph), Judy Ellenberg, and Ann Outen; and his children's grandparents, Amelia and Billy Catoe who were very special to Gary as they treated him as their own.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gilmore and Nellie Small; and his sister, Alice Sanders.

The Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Small will be 3:00pm Thursday, November 9, 2023 at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home officiated by Rev. Dale Walters.

The family will receive friends from 5:00pm – 7:00pm, Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at Burgess Funeral Home.
