LANCASTER, SC – Mr. Fulton Cephus Allen, age 96, passed away peacefully Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born November 20, 1927, in Kinston, Alabama, a son of the late Gilford C. Allen and the late Jenny Jones Allen and was the loving husband of the late Chessie Lee Strickland Allen. Mr. Allen proudly served in The United States Army. He was a very simple, selfless, loving, servant of God. Mr. Allen put God first in his life and sacrificed a lot to always help others. He was always a hardworking man. He truly enjoyed working, working on cars, cutting grass, and gardening. Mr. Allen loved his family dearly and enjoyed all the time spent with them.
Mr. Allen is survived by his two sons, Billy Allen (Donzell) and Jimmy Allen; three daughters, Margie Reeder, Marilyn Caskey, and Debra Cook; eight grandchildren, Billy Allen, II (Michelle), Joel Allen (Lael), Christopher Reeder (Robin), Misty Carpenter (Christopher), Roger Powell (Anita), Lisa McInvaille (Bobby), Kaylee Allen, and Matthew Allen; fourteen great grandchildren, Andrew Allen, Anna Beth Allen, Anson Allen, Rorie Allen, Tindall Allen, Wyle Allen, Emilee Kirby (Alex), Jacob Reeder, Samuel Reeder, Ellie Carpenter, Kesla Powell, Dalton Powell, Alex McInvaille (Tristin), and Trent McInvaille; two great great grandchildren, Jayden Powell and Haysleigh McManus; and a large extended family.
He was preceded in death by wife of 75 years, Chessie Allen; his parents; four brothers; and six sisters. He was also preceded in death by his three sons-in-law, Mickey Caskey, Travis Cook, and Ralph Reeder.
The Celebration of Life Graveside Service for Mr. Allen will be 3:00 pm Friday, October 18, 2024, at Lancaster Memorial Park officiated by his son, Rev. Billy Allen. The family will receive friends following the graveside service.
Mr. Allen's family would like to express their thankfulness to Chonita "Nita" Burthey, The Veteran's Firstlight Homecare, and Hospice of Lancaster and the Piedmont for all the wonderful care that was given to Mr. Allen.
