LANCASTER, SC :::::::: Mr. Fred James Robinson, Sr., age 90, died June 23, 2012 at White Oak Manor where he was a resident. He was born in Lancaster County, the son of the late Oscar Cleveland Robinson and Della Adams Robinson and was the husband of the late Lola Gaskin Robinson. Mr. Robinson retired from Springs Industries and Duracell, was of the Baptist Faith and served our great country in the Army Corp of Engineers during World War II. Mr. Robinson is survived by 3 sons, Jerry Robinson and his wife Sarah of Lancaster, Jimmy Robinson of Lancaster and Randy Robinson of Wilson, NC, 2 daughters, Sue R. Tillman and her husband Billy and Cherry R. Hendley and her husband Charles both of Lancaster, a brother, Norman Robinson, a sister Nadine Ghent both of Lancaster, 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Mr. Robinson was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Harvey Robinson and Vernon Robinson, and 2 sisters, Mae Sims and Alma Clark. The Celebration of Life Graveside Funeral Service for Mr. Robinson will be 11:00 am Monday, June 25, 2012 at Westside City Cemetery by Rev. Mark Miller. The Family of Mr. Robinson will receive friends at the home of his daughter, Cherry Hendley and suggests memorials may be made to Shiloh ARP Church, Sonshine Preschool, 346 Shiloh Unity Road, Lancaster, SC 29720.
