LANCASTER, SC::::::::::: Mr. Fred Jackson Ashley, age 88, died Monday, October 19, 2015 at White Oak Manor. He was born October 6, 1927 in Lancaster County, a son of the late William Oscar Ashley and Hattie Wilson Ashley and was the husband of the late Susie Bowers Ashley. Mr. Ashley retired from Jackson's Cabinet Shop and served our country in the United States Navy. He was a Mason with the Catawba Masonic Lodge #56 in Fort Mill for over 50 years and a member of Camp Creek United Methodist Church.
Mr. Ashley was survived by a niece, Patsy Moore of Lancaster; a stepson, Rocky Bowers and his wife, Sharon of Lancaster; three grandchildren, Jade Harris and her husband, Tommy; Freddie Franceschelli and his wife, Amy, and Amanda Franceschelli; and eight great grandchildren, Justin, Joshua, Travis, Daniel, Austin, Alyssa, Adrien and Braydon.
Mr. Ashley was preceded in death by five brothers, Odell Ashley, Herman Ashley, Albert Ashley, J. W. Ashley and Johnny Ashley and two sisters, Ruby Jackson and Ruth Thompson.
The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mr. Ashley will be 3:00 pm, Thursday, October 22, 2015 at Camp Creek United Methodist Church by Rev. Mike Catoe. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The Family will receive friends from 2:00 - 3:00 pm Thursday in the church sanctuary and suggest memorial contributions be made to Camp Creek United Methodist Church, 4721 Great Falls Highway, Lancaster, SC 29720.
