INDIAN LAND, SC ~ Mr. Franklin "Frank" Brady McManus, 76, passed away on March 2, 2020 at Atrium Health-Pineville. He was born on December 31, 1943 in Pageland, SC, a son of the late Lewis McManus and Mary Catherine McManus Knight and was the husband of Opal Player McManus. Mr. McManus retired from Reynolds (Alcoa) Aluminum after 36 years. He loved his wife, two sons and grandchildren. Frank's hobbies included playing pool, sitting out by his fishpond, playing cards with friends and dancing. He was a very generous, hospitable "manly" man that didn't mind saying "I love you" and giving hugs. Frank loved the Carolina Gamecocks football, Duke Basketball and chocolate pie. He was a member at Harrison United Methodist Church-Pineville, NC.
Frank is survived by his childhood sweetheart and wife of 55 years (together for a total of 61 years), Opal Player McManus; two sons, Phillip "Phil" Franklin McManus (Julia) of Cloverdale, VA, and Chad Eric Mc Manus (April) of Archdale, NC; two grandsons, Eric McManus and Will McManus; a sister, Louise Gravley (Walter) of Six Mile, SC; and four sisters-in-law, Diane McManus, Brenda McManus, Kay Dotson, and Janice Smith.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Lewis McManus, Jr. and Harold McManus.
A Celebration of Life Service will be at 11:00 am, Friday, March 6, 2020 at Harrison United Methodist Church, 15008 Lancaster Hwy, Pineville, NC 28134 officiated by Rev. Kyle McCain.
The family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall. Memorial contributions may be made to Harrison United Methodist Church, 15008 Lancaster Hwy, Pineville, NC 28134.
