LANCASTER, SC ~ Mr. Frank Hartley, age 89, passed away Sunday, January 3, 2021 at Lancaster Health and Rehabilitation.  He was born July 29, 1931 in Andrews, SC, a son of the late Thomas Hartley and Zinker Wilson Hartley and was the husband of the late Betty Johnson Hartley.  Mr. Hartley grew up in Andrews and enjoyed playing guitar and bass with several groups over the years including The Hired Hands.  He was a comedian and related to people with jokes.  He was often referred to as, "A country boy from Spring Pond who made it to Carnegie Hall". Mr. Hartley was the owner and operator of Hartley Appliance and was a member of Sherwood Baptist Church.

Mr. Hartley is survived by many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Betty; four brothers, Eliby Hartley, Israel Hartley, John Hartley and Wesley Hartley and four sisters, Edna Yarborough, Dovie Moree, Hazel Morrell and Mary Moree.

The Celebration of Life Graveside Funeral Service for Mr. Hartley will be 3:00 pm Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at Lancaster Memorial Park and will be officiated by Mr. Larry Small.
