LANCASTER, SC ~ Mr. William Franklin "Frank" Ferguson, Sr., age 80, passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2022, at his home. He was born November 3, 1941, in Cherokee County, SC, the son of the late Jack Ferguson and Inez Morris Ferguson of Clover, SC and was the husband of Patricia Ann Kelly Ferguson. Frank loved playing golf and was a huge Clemson fan. He was an avid bird watcher, especially Purple Martins. He was past president of the Lancaster County Clemson Club and with help of others established the largest scholarship fund of any Clemson Club in the nation. Frank later helped form the Big Thursday Golf Tournament to fund scholarships for students from Lancaster County to attend USCL or Clemson. He was a proud father and pop and was always The Rock of the family. Forever a Clemson Tiger and a Clover Blue Eagle.
Frank is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ann Ferguson; his daughter, Leslie Sinclair (Lee) of Lancaster; his son, William Franklin Ferguson, Jr. of Rock Hill; two grandsons, Cole Bailey of Lancaster, and Grey Phillips of Greensboro, NC; his sister, Kay Dugan (JC) of Fort Mill, SC; a nephew, Chris Dugan (April); and a great niece, Adyson Dugan both of Rock Hill, SC.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents.
The Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Frank will be 2:00 pm Sunday, March 13, 2022, at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home officiated by Rev. Neal Woods.
The family will receive friends following the service in the foyer of Burgess Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Big Thursday of Lancaster, Attn: Rodney Thomas, 2010 Havenwood Dr., Lancaster, SC 29720.
