LANCASTER, SC ~ Mr. Franklin "Frank" Delanor Evans, age 87, passed away Tuesday, November 14, 2023. He was born July 18, 1936, in Chesterfield, SC, a son of the late Hennie Terry Evans and was the husband of the late Dorothy "Dot" Richburg Evans. Mr. Evans was the owner and operator of The Bantam Chef in Kershaw for over 30 years. He loved working and was a very hard worker. In his free time, he enjoyed restoring cars, traveling, and going to church. Mr. Evans was a member of Friendship Baptist Church.

Mr. Evans is survived by his son, Brian Evans; his two special nieces and caregivers, Valerie McKenzie, and her husband, Rick, and Wynette Birchfield, and her husband, Donnie, and their children, Gracie Birchfield, Donnie Birchfield Jr., and Grady Birchfield; his nephew, Marvin Evans; his special friend, Betty Adams; and his best friend for over 80 years, David Jordan.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Evans; his mother, Hennie Evans; and his four siblings, Eula Evans, Edgar Evans, Elvie Evans, and Vivian Wentz.

The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mr. Evans will be 2:00 pm Monday, November 20, 2023, at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home officiated by Rev. Donnie Birchfield. Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm, one hour prior to the service at Burgess Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, memorials may be made to Friendship Baptist Church, 1809 Bennett Rd. Lancaster SC 29720.
