LANCASTER, SC:::::::::::: Mrs. Frances Rogers Pittman, age 69, died Thursday morning, August 28, 2008 at her home. She was born February 13, 1939 in Asheville, NC, the daughter of the late William Anderson Rogers and Lula Margaret Osborne Rogers. Mrs. Pittman was the wife of Bobby Gene Pittman and the late James Melvin Catoe. She was a homemaker, a previous Girl Scout Leader, and a charter member of Freedom Freewill Baptist Church where she had taught Sunday school and Vacation Bible School. Mrs. Pittman is survived by her husband, Bobby Gene Pittman of the home, a son, Robert W. "Billy" Catoe of Lancaster, a daughter, Margaret Hanna and her husband Earl of Charlotte, NC, 2 step-daughters, Rebecca "Becky" Derrberry and her husband Mike of Charlotte and Diane Price and her husband Allen of Utah, 2 grandchildren, James Hanna and Crystal Hanna, 2 great grandchildren, Chase Hanna and Kindall Henry, 10 step grandchildren, Ty Dawkins, Heath Dawkins, Cindy Rosso, Christian Price, Walker Price, Alyssa Derrberry, Brooke Derrberry, Timothy Michael Price, Christopher Price, and Jana Cannon, and 2 step great grandchildren, Kiala and Kade Cannon.The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. Pittman will be 11:00am Monday morning, September 1, 2008 at Hartley Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Jack Nunn with entombment to follow at Lancaster Memorial Park Mausoleum.The Family of Mrs. Pittman will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm Sunday evening, August 31, 2008 at Hartley Funeral Home and suggest memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 128 Stonemark Lane, Columbia, SC 29210 or Hospice of Lancaster, 902 West Meeting Street, Lancaster, SC 29720.
