CHARLOTTE, NC ~ Mrs. Frances Buckelew Christle Murray, age 97, died Thursday, August 3, 2017 in Charlotte, NC. She was born July 28, 1920 in Jackson, TN a daughter of the late James Ernest Buckelew and Willie Naomi Cabiness and the wife of late Frederic C. Murray. Mrs. Murray loved the beach, traveling, gemology, playing golf and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was an excellent cook. Mrs. Murray was a former member of Christ Episcopal Church.

Mrs. Murray is survived by two daughters, Victoria Vicki H. Evans and her husband, Richard Dick of Charlotte, and Alexandra Christle of Norfolk, VA; five grandchildren, Michael Wilde, Alexandra Wilde, Elyse Whitlock, Christopher Evans and Andrew Evans; ten great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

Mrs. Murray was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Frederic Murray and Leo W. Christle; and a sister, Bernadine Cooper.

The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. Murray will be 3:00 pm Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home by Rev. Bruce Creswell. Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.
