LANCASTER, SC ~ Mrs. Frances Elizabeth Mothershed Adams, age 99 ½, passed away Thursday, September 14, 2023. She was born March 1, 1924, in Lancaster, a daughter of the late Sam Mothershed and Fannie Robinson Mothershed and was the wife of the late Hazel Randolph Adams. Mrs. Adams was an avid news and weather watcher. She was a very selfless person who cared more for others than herself. Mrs. Adams loved her family deeply, especially her grandchildren. She was a member of Camp Creek Baptist Church.

Mrs. Adams is survived by her son, Ralph Wayne Adams (Becky) of Rock Hill, SC; her daughter, Rita Ann Adams Teague (Buddy) of Lancaster; six grandchildren, Kelley Adams, Stephen Teague (Tina), Kimberly Garand (Bob), Scott Teague (Paula) Kristen Lowry (Kevin), and Michael Adams (Stephanie); ten great grandchildren; Davis Teague (Kelsey), Rayna Teague, Owen Chapman, Evan Teague, Ella Chapman, Anika Teague, Logan Teague, Ryder Teague, Madison Lowry, and Kane Adams; and two great-great grandchildren, Carter, and Rowan Teague.

Mrs. Adams was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Hazel Adams; her parents; her brother, Melvin Mothershed; two sisters, Ruth Hunter and Helen Sealy; a sister-in-law, Frances Mothershed; and two brothers-in-law, CB Hunter and Harry Sealy

The Celebration of Life Service for Mrs. Adams will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, September 16, 2023, at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Camp Creek Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 pm, one hour prior to the service, at Burgess Funeral Home and other times at the home of Rita and Buddy Teague.  In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, memorials may be made to a charity of one's choosing.
