LANCASTER, SC ::::::::::Mr. Floyd Lee Cauthen, age 89, of 1670 Lynwood Drive, died Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at Springs Memorial Hospital . He was born September 26, 1919 in Lancaster County, the son of the late Robert Leo Cauthen and Lola Eubanks Cauthen and was the husband of Dorothy Steele Cauthen. Mr. Cauthen was the retired owner and operator of B&G Exxon on Lynwood Drive, a member of the American Legion, Jackson Masonic Lodge and Lynnwood United Methodist Church. Mr. Cauthen was survived by his wife of 62 years, Dorothy Steele Cauthen of the home, 2 sons Mike Cauthen and his wife Susan and Jerry L. Cauthen both of Lancaster, a daughter Sylvia Cauthen Marshall and her husband Terry of Lancaster, 5 grandchildren; Stacie Todd, Bridget Martin, Lauren and Caroline Cauthen and Nicholas Cauthen, 3 great-grandchildren; Ragan and Kassie Todd, and Alex Martin, a brother Shannon Cauthen of Lancaster, and a sister, Jimmie Brown of Somerset, Kentucky.Mr. Cauthen was preceded in death by a brother Archie Cauthen, and 3 sisters Gaynelle Adams, Mildred Thomas, and Eulaler Player.The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mr. Cauthen will be 11am Thursday, April 9, 2009 at Hartley Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Arthur Vick and Rev. Larry Helm with burial to follow with military honors at Lancaster Memorial Park. The Family of Mr. Cauthen will receive friends from 10:00 -11:00 am Thursday morning April 9, 2009 at Hartley Funeral Home and the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Lynnwood United Methodist Church, 1753 Lynwood Drive, Lancaster, SC 29720.
