LANCASTER, SC::::::::::::: Mrs. Fannie Steele Parris Fleming, age 85, died Saturday, September 04, 2010 at Springs Memorial Hospital. She was born April 4, 1925 in Louisville, IL the daughter of the late Thadus Everett Steele and Maggie Porter Steele. Mrs. Fleming was twice married; first to the late Maynard S. Parris and secondly to Thomas Howard Fleming. Mrs. Fleming was a retired nurse's aid for the Lancaster County Health Dept, a member of the Eastern Star and Elgin Baptist Church. Mrs. Fleming is survived by a daughter, Nadine Parris Cheek and her husband Ron of Muscle Shoals, AL, 2 daughter-in-laws, Elaine Parris and Joanne Parris both of Lancaster, 5 grandchildren, Nick Parris, John Parris, Kimberly Powers, Kristi Hayes and Harold Cheek and 7 great grandchildren. Mrs. Fleming was preceded in death by 2 sons, Smitty Parris and Nicky Parris, 8 brothers and 4 sisters. The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. Fleming will be 2:00 pm, Monday, September 6, 2010 at Elgin Baptist Church by Rev. Ben Nolen, Rev. Charles McAteer and Rev. Don Waldrop. Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.The Family of Mrs. Fleming will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 Sunday, September 5, 2010 at Hartley Funeral Home and the family suggest memorial contributions be made to Elgin Baptist Church, 2303 Belmont Street, Lancaster SC 29720.
