August 3, 1946 – January 17, 2019
LANCASTER, SC - Mr. Wilson Ewell Criminger, Jr., 72, passed away Thursday, January 17, 2019 at his home. He was born August 3, 1946 in Lancaster, the son of the late Wilson Ewell Criminger, Sr. and Bleeka Hagins Criminger and was the husband of Diane Marshall Criminger. Ewell was a graduate of the USC College of Pharmacy Class of 1969 and was a lifelong South Carolina Gamecock fan. He was the owner and operator of Williams Drug Center before retirement. He was very dedicated to his work and had much compassion for his customers, serving them faithfully no matter the day or night. He was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church.
Ewell is survived by his wife of 45 years, Diane Criminger; a son, Kyle Criminger of Columbia; a daughter, Julie Criminger of Charlotte; and an adopted daughter, Georgia Thorne of Charlotte. The family would like to express a special thank you to his caregivers, Kim Soja and Betsy Hanson for the excellent care they provided.
The Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Ewell will be 3:00 pm Sunday, January 27, 2019 at St. Luke United Methodist Church officiated by Rev. Bill McCown. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 2:00-3:00 pm, at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke United Methodist Church, 128 Providence Road, Lancaster, SC 29720 or the Alzheimer's Association of SC, 4124 Clemson Blvd. Suite L, Anderson, SC 29621.
