LANCASTER, SC::::::::::::::::Mrs. Evelyn Baker Watts, age 70, died Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at White Oak Manor. She was born October 30, 1946 in Lancaster, a daughter of the late Wendell Baker and Sarah Gibson Baker. Mrs. Watts loved God, loved to sing and pray. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was of the Baptist faith.

Mrs. Watts is survived by a daughter, Ginger Steele and her husband Shawn of Lancaster; two sons, D. Scott Harper and his wife Rhonda of Rock Hill and R. Alan Harper and his wife Alicia of Lancaster; seven grandchildren, Hank Thompson, Mason Steele, Matthew Steele, Kayce Harper, Madison Harper, Kent Morgan and Leslie Harper; a brother, Wayne Baker and his wife Jean of Lancaster; and a sister, Libby Blackwell of Cornelius, NC.

Mrs. Watts was preceded in death by her first husband, Harold Harper and a brother, Gibson Baker.

The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. Watts will be at 3:00 pm Thursday, November 3, 2016 at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home by Rev. Randy Mellichamp with burial to follow at St. Luke United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 2:00 3:00 pm, Thursday, November 3, 2016 at Burgess Funeral Home, 1800 Charlotte Highway, Lancaster and suggest memorial contributions be made to White Oak Manor, Patient Activity Fund, 253 Craig Manor Road, Lancaster, SC 29720.
