LANCASTER, SC ::::::: Mrs. Evelyn Starnes Gamble, age 96, died Wednesday, October 29, 2014. She was born December 20, 1917 in Lancaster County, the daughter of the late Walter Starnes and Odessa Courtney Starnes and was the wife of the late Joseph Edward Gamble. Mrs. Gamble was a homemaker and a member of Grace United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Gamble is survived by a son, Michael Gamble of Monroe, NC, a brother, Wayne Starnes and his wife Marie of Columbia, SC, a sister, Bernice Calebro of Charlotte, NC, 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

Mrs. Gamble was preceded in death by a son, Robert Gamble, a daughter, Elaine G. Taylor and four brothers, Truesdale Starnes, Ralph Starnes, Ray Starnes and Carter Starnes.

The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. Gamble will be 11:00 am Friday, October 31, 2014 at Grace United Methodist Church by Rev. Brian Humphries. Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.

The Family of Mrs. Gamble will receive friends from 10:00 - 11:00 am at the church and suggest memorial contributions be made to Grace United Methodist Church, PO Box 418, Lancaster SC 29721.
