LANCASTER, SC:::::::::::: Ms. Evelyn McMackin Estes, age 92, died Tuesday afternoon September 2, 2008. She was born September 6, 1915 in Heath Springs, the daughter of the late William Frazier McMackin and Sadie Ballard McMackin Ms. Estes was a graduate of Heath Springs High School, a homemaker, and of the Presbyterian faith.Ms. Estes is survived by a daughter, Judy Chandler and her husband Richard of Lancaster, a son, Lynn Estes and his wife Judy of Fort Lawn, a sister, Victoria Johnson of Lancaster, 5 grandchildren, Sherry Leite and her husband Craig, Robin Turner and her husband Terry, Missy Teal and her husband Jamie, Jason Chandler, Jeffrey Chandler and his wife Greta, and 2 great-grandchildren, Natalie Teal and Ethan Turner.Ms. Estes was preceded in death by two brothers, Lynwood McMackin and William McMackin.The Family will hold a private memorial service for Ms. Estes at the home of Judy Chandler conducted by Dr. Gene Rollins and Rev. Gene Ghent with entombment at Lancaster Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family suggests in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to Christian Services, 101 South White Street, Lancaster, SC 29720, the local Chapter of the American Red Cross, 106-C Woodland Drive, Lancaster, SC 29720, or Hope of Lancaster, 2008 Pageland Highway, Lancaster, SC 29720.
