LANCASTER, SC :::::::: Mrs. Eva Walters White, age 93, died Friday, January 25, 2013 at Helms Gordon Residential Center where she was a resident. She was born April 17, 1919 in Lancaster County, the daughter of the late Ellison Walters and Rosa Etta Deas Walters and was the wife of the late James Thomas White. Mrs. White retired from Springs Industries - Grace Plant and was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.
Mrs. White is survived by her daughter, Rosa W. Johnson and her husband Sammie Surrell Johnson, Sr. of Summerville, a brother, Allen Walters of Lancaster, a sister, Mary Ellen Adams of Lancaster, 3 grandchildren, Anita Hull, Sammie Johnson, Jr. and Thomas Johnson, and 4 great grandchildren, Crystal Johnson, Sammie Johnson, III, Ethan Johnson and Connor Johnson.
Mrs. White was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Lawson Walters, Kelly Walters, and Vander Walters, and 5 sisters, Mae Roberts, Ruth Langston, Rachel Teno, Lily Bass and Doris Catoe.
The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. White will be 2:00 pm Monday, January 28, 2013 at Hartley Burgess Chapel by Rev. Michael Catoe and Rev. Brian Humphries. Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.
The Family of Mrs. White will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:00 pm at the funeral home and the family suggests memorials be made Grace United Methodist Church, Building Fund, PO Box 418, Lancaster, SC 29721.
The Family of Mrs. White will be at the home of her sister, Mary Ellen Adams, 202 Azalea Road, Lancaster, SC.
