LANCASTER, SC:::::::::::Mrs. Euree McManus Carnes, age 92, died Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at her home. She was born May 10, 1921 in Lancaster, the daughter of the late John W. McManus and Lissie McManus McManus and was the wife of the late Woodrow Wilson Carnes. Mrs. Carnes was a homemaker and a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.
Mrs. Carnes is survived by two daughters, Cordelia "DeeDee" Newton and Trudy D. Carnes both of Lancaster, a daughter in law, Jinx Catoe Carnes of Lancaster, a brother, Kelly McManus of Lancaster, a sister, Azilee Rich of Lancaster, six grandchildren, Adrian Carnes and his wife Grace, David Carnes and his wife Jamie, Penny Preslar and her husband Cameron, Rick Gainey and his wife Crystal, Mark Newton and his wife Kaye and Sharon Lowery and her husband Mike, and twelve great grandchildren, Jody Carnes and his wife Myra, Haley Baerga, Trenton Carnes, Casey Carnes, Hannah Gainey, Stephen Gainey, Seth Gainey, Ian Gainey, Michael Lowery and his wife Lindsay, Justin Lowery and his wife Kelly, Jeremy Newton and Hunter Newton.
Mrs. Carnes was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Wilson Carnes, a son, Mickey Wilson Carnes, seven brothers, Roy McManus, Toy McManus, Ira McManus, J.W. McManus, Ray McManus, David McManus, and Roddey McManus, and six sisters, Leila Carroll, Inez Carnes, Catherine Gaskins, Edna Whitaker, Katie Hammond, and Frankie Couch.
The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. Carnes will be 3:00 pm, Thursday, January 9, 2014 at Bethlehem Baptist Church by Rev. Jason Myers. Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.
The Family of Mrs. Carnes will receive friends one hour before the service, from 2:00 - 3:00 pm Thursday in the Family Life Center and suggest memorials be made to Bethlehem Baptist Church, 1841 N. Rocky River Road, Lancaster, SC 29720
