LANCASTER, SC:::::::::::: Mrs. Ethel "Betty Jean" Terry Singleton, age 75, died Wednesday, February 4, 2009 at Kershaw County Medical Center. She was born March 23, 1933 in York County, the daughter of the late George Nelson Terry, Sr. and Macie Idell Wright Terry. She was first married to the late Melvin Hobbs and was the wife of Henry Singleton. Mrs. Singleton was a homemaker and a member of First Pentecostal Holiness Church.Mrs. Singleton is survived by her husband, Henry Singleton of the home, 3 sons, Wayne Hobbs of Murrells Inlet, Johnny R. Hobbs and his wife Tammy and George R. Hobbs and his wife Darlene both of Lancaster, a stepson, Reese Singleton and his wife Tonya and a stepdaughter, Susie Singleton both of Lancaster, 7 grandchildren, Cory Hobbs, Rusty Lackey, Carrie Rollings, Matthew and Hunter Singleton, Lexus and Bradley, and 2 great grandchildren, Caitlin Wright and Cody Sims.Mrs. Singleton was preceded in death by a brother, George N. Terry, Jr. and a sister, Margaret R. Prince. The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. Singleton will be 3:00 pm Sunday, February 8, 2009 at First Pentecostal Holiness Church by Rev. Jerald Starnes with burial to follow at Westside City Cemetery.The Family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm Saturday evening, February 7, 2009 at Hartley Funeral and at other times at the home of her son, Johnny Hobbs, 797 Baker Place Road, Lancaster.
