Obituary

LANCASTER, SC:::::::::::Mrs. Ethel Hill "Grandma" Waldrop, age 91, died Sunday, February 23, 2014 at White Oak Manor. She was born January 14, 1923 in Greer, SC, the daughter of the late Osier Claude Hill and Thelma Reid Hill and was the loving wife of the late Grady Frank Waldrop. Mrs. Waldrop retired from Springs Industries. She was a former member of Motlow Creek Baptist Church in Campobello, SC and currently a member of Camp Creek Baptist Church, Lancaster, SC.

Mrs. Waldrop is survived by her son, Rev. Don Waldrop and his wife Ann of Lancaster, 2 grandchildren, Donald "Donnie" Waldrop, Jr., and his wife Lisa of Lancaster and Kathy Blackmon of Heath Springs, and 4 great grandchildren, Kelsey Waldrop, Madison Blackmon, Hunter Blackmon and Steven Weaver, Jr.

Mrs. Waldrop was preceded in death by her husband, Grady Waldrop; her parents, Claude and Thelma Hill; and her grandson-in-law, Monty Blackmon.

The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. Waldrop will be 11:00 am Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at Camp Creek Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Don Waldrop and Rev. Randy Mellichamp. Burial will follow at 3:00 pm Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at Motlow Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Campobello, SC by Rev. Henry Farmer.

The family of Mrs. Waldrop will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at Burgess Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to Gideon's International, PO Box 140800, Nashville, TN 37214-0800 or www.gideons.org or Camp Creek Baptist Church, Senior Adult Fund, 998 Potter Road, Lancaster SC 29720.
